Zab Inter Pong Bai Yanang (ปองใบย่านาง, pronounced bpong bai yaa-naang) is a dried and ground powder made from Yanang leaves (Tiliacora triandra, ใบย่านาง) — a climbing herb native to Southeast Asia and a foundational ingredient in northeastern Thai (Isan) and Northern Thai cuisine. Yanang leaf is characterised by its deep green colour, earthy aroma, and mildly bitter, slightly astringent flavour, and is most commonly used as the base for Gaeng Nor Mai (แกงหน่อไม้, Isan bamboo shoot curry). The powder format is distinct from ready-pressed Yanang juice (such as Mom’s Select Bai Yanang Juice): the powder is dissolved in water to create the Yanang liquid, offering a longer shelf life and more flexible storage than the liquid form.
