Jarome Red (Southern) Curry Paste (พริกแกงแดงใต้ จะโหรม, phrìk gæng dæng tâi ja-hòom) is a Southern Thai-style red curry paste from the Jarome brand. It is distinct from standard Central Thai red curry paste in that it uses the Southern Thai spice profile — significantly hotter, more intensely spiced, and with a stronger dried chilli and turmeric presence than the milder Central Thai version. Southern Thai red curry (gaeng daeng tai) is typically cooked without coconut milk or with less coconut milk than Central Thai red curry, resulting in a drier, more pungent, and more aggressively spiced dish. The Jarome brand specialises in these regional Southern and Muslim-Thai curry styles that are underrepresented in mainstream Thai sauce ranges.
